Benjamin Howe

As the Principal of CoSpaces, Ben overseas the management and operations of scientific labs, coworking desks, private offices, event spaces, and hospitality venues.

In 2012 Ben transformed the Gold Coast's original Ambulance Station (c1922) from a 1000 sqm private office, into a vibrant coworking community.

In 2015, Ben partnered with Telstra Property and renovated 350m2 of the Southport Telstra Exchange (c1952) into a boutique shared office.

In 2017 Ben developed and restored Southport's original Postmaster General's Residence (c1957) into a mixed use commercial building which includes offices, retail, a cafe and a rooftop bar. "The Residence" won Gold in the Gold Coast Urban Design Awards for Heritage Adaptive Reuse. In the same year, Ben co-founded Mr P.P.'s Deli & Rooftop Bar, a 150 patron venue, which in 2019, won runner up for Gold Coast Bar of the Year.

In 2019, CoSpaces was commissioned by Economic Development Queensland to repurpose three buildings utilised during the 2018 Commonwealth Games into a startup incubator and coworking space. Located within the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct, Cohort Innovation Space offers professional facilities which include 5 meeting rooms, a 120 person event space, 3 x PC1/PC2 certified laboratories, 46 coworking desks, 24 private offices, an accelerator, student incubator, printing, full reception and podcast studio. Ben was engaged for master planning and design management services and to subsequently provide ongoing community management and support programs delivery for Cohort.
