In 1980 he got his first job in real estate with James and Fear Real Estate Agents in Kingsford as a residential sales agent. In 1983 he purchased the James and Fear branches of Randwick and Maroubra, he ran these two offices until 1988 when he sold them to establish Richardson and Wrench Mascot to concentrate on selling commercial, industrial and development sites. An opportunity was presented to Marino to purchase Laing & Simmons Potts Point in 1995. Marino sold the Potts Point office in 2005.
