The Sydney Polo Club, a stunning 116ha estate in Richmond which has featured in television shows such as Married At First Sight is reportedly on the market for $75 million.

The former dairy farming land on the Hawkesbury River was transformed into a magnificent equine centre by Mortgage Choice co-founder Peter Higgins. It was used to host the 2017 World Polo Championships.

If it fetches its reported sale price, the estate — which also featured in the movie The Great Gatsby — will become one of Australia’s most expensive properties.

More than 12,000 trees have been planted on the site located at Ridges Lane, at the foothills of the Blue Mountains. It has two undercover arenas plus four full-sized polo fields, staff lodgings, stables and a pavilion.

Two original barns that were kept on the property have been turned into reception venues. One of these, known as ‘Sunnybrook Barn’ was used as the location of two weddings on the current series of Married At First Sight — Sam Ball and Elizabeth Sobinoff as well as Dino Hira and Melissa Lucarelli. The rustic setting also featured on Channel 9’s dating program Farmer Wants a Wife.
