The Clarence Valley Council which owns and operates the Grafton Regional Gallery is seeking expressions of interest for the operation of a cafe/restaurant at the Gallery. The suitable applicant may have access to infrastructure amendments or landlord improvements and can be guaranteed the full support of the Gallery Associates to create an exciting new venture for the new lessee.

The Grafton Regional Gallery is located at 158 Fitzroy Street, Grafton, and comprises the historic building, Prentice House, a formal dining experience and extensions completed in 1999 all of which encompass a shady rear paved courtyard around established trees and a historic well and garden which is the perfect alfresco setting or indeed enjoy a choice of dining experiences under varying verandah aspects. The Gallery has played host to numerous conventions, weddings and corporate occasions in the past to bolster the lessee income earning ability above their normal trading regime.

The Cafe is located within Grafton Regional Gallery, a major cultural asset of the Clarence Valley and a nationally recognised regional gallery. This location requires a suitable food and beverage business that is compatible with the Gallery's function and purpose. The Cafe should be simple, yet smart, creative, friendly and warm - a place for people to eat, to have a quick coffee or a drink, to relax, to enjoy the courtyard space and the atmosphere the Gallery offers.

The Gallery presents a lively program of exhibitions and events and has a strong volunteer program including Gallery Volunteers, Friends of the Gallery and The Gallery Foundation Ltd. The Cafe will be an integral part of each visitors experience at Grafton Regional Gallery whilst retaining the identity and autonomy of a commercial operation.

The Gallery is only a short walk from the main street of Grafton and its shopping precinct.
