The City of Port Adelaide Enfield is in partnership with the State Government to create a venue where our community can lead active and healthy lifestyles, participating in a range of sport, recreation and community activities in a modern, sustainably managed and fit-for-purpose indoor recreation facility with a construction cost of $24.9 Million. Council also named the new facility "The Lights Community and Sports Centre", to be known as "The Lights". This premier facility will have five full size courts, office facilities, areas for community meetings, function and social spaces. A significant number of sporting, community and commercial groups have already expressed interest in being involved with the centre.
The café tenancy has a space of 243.9 square metres* plus 30 square metres* of paved, covered outdoor dining area. The tenancy will be separately metered and secured.
Here is what will be provided as a part of the base building works:
- Fully equipped commercial kitchen
- Ceiling lighting and air-conditioning
- Grease arrestor
- Gas connection
- Switchboard with 3 phase power
-Tiled floor
Trading hours will need to be negotiated, however, The Lights will be opening from early morning to late evening. It will be possible to trade outside The Lights' hours and it is not expected that the successful operator will trade all the hours of The Lights.
Council has no objection to the Lessee gaining a liquor licence.
The Lights includes a function space catering for meetings, an outdoor barbecue alfresco area and events as well as being open during the times the facility is open, therefore the scope of the café may change to suit different times of the day. Applicants will need to give consideration in their proposal as to how they can work with Council to service the centre's requirement.
McGees Property has been engaged by the City of Port Adelaide Enfield to manage an Expressions of Interest campaign. Expressions of Interest closed at the office of McGees Property on Thursday 7th June 2019 at 4.00 pm (ACST).
