The landmark Fisherman's Co-Operative building at 47 Mews Road, Fremantle has undergone a significant redevelopment which has revitalised the building itself and enhanced the surrounding fishing boat harbour and Fremantle arts precinct at Bathers Beach. The works have included the renovations of the development which includes the extension to the west from its existing alignment to incorporate Perth's newest and most absolute beachfront venue, Bathers Beach House. The remaining two tenancies include the extension of a canopy adding to the tenancy. The whole northern alfresco edge has been extended providing undercover, open air alfresco dining areas with direct ocean views whilst extending the patron's seating capacity.
The remaining tenancy spaces have been renovated internally and externally which includes expanding the service points and better access to amenities. This project will revitalise and reactivate the historical Bathers Beach while connecting it directly to the Fremantle fishing Boat Harbour, providing the west end of Fremantle with a unique hospitality and entertainment precinct for tourists and locals alike.
