Victoria University (“VU”) is seeking proposals for a licensed café / lounge and functions business situated at the Footscray Park campus.
Footscray Park is VU’s largest campus with an estimated population of 9996.
The site will be available on a non-transferable licence basis negotiable for a period of up to nine years at the discretion of VU.
The site is a large space comprising 381 sqm of indoor space plus an outdoor and undercover seating area.
The site currently trading by the name of Toniq enjoys scenic views over Flemington racecourse and the Maribynong River, Toniq is the only licensed venue at the Footscray Park Campus of VU.
The site would be also be an excellent space for functions and performances targeted at the broader campus community. A refurbishment of the kitchen would be necessary in order to properly cater for larger function groups such as;
- 18th , 21st & 40th birthdays
- Cocktail parties
- Christmas functions
- Product launches, and
- Live performances.
Facilities at the site are in excellent working order and are ready for immediate use by the successful operator. However it is anticipated that the new operator will refurbish the site in order to fully realise the sites potential (any such refurbishment / fitout will be funded by the new operator and will require the prior agreement of VU)
All proposals must be submitted by 12 Noon 7/12/2009
VU will formally advise successful operators by 16/12/2009
All new proposers must be operational by Monday 22nd February 2010 for Orientation Week at Footscray Park.
