Looking for a contemporary and experienced café operator and functions/event manager who will work closely & collaboratively with PNF. The successful operator will also need to incorporate a vision and plan to effectively service staff utilizing the 240sqm staff room on level 5 – either from the café directly or from the 5th floor kitchenette.
Functions/events may include;
- internal meetings
- conferences /seminars / board meetings
- gallery events
The café site situated in the Parkville Neuroscience Facility (“PNF”).
PNF is a world class scientific & medical facility for research into brain and mind disorders and is being developed at a cost of $200m.
PNF is a six storey facility that will be home to approximately 500 researchers and on the ground floor will accommodate;
- The Café
- A Bookstore (opposite the café)
- An education centre
- The Cunningham Dax Collection
- A 250 seat theatre
The PNF building is highly visible and the area will enjoy substantial traffic flows generated by;
- Passing foot traffic up and down Genetics Lane which is the main University entrance from the tram stop in Royal Parade
- Its proximity to the Royal Melbourne Hospital (which is across the road)
- Motor vehicle traffic parking under the PNF building – this large underground car park will be used by University staff and visitors who are based at or will visit PNF and other faculty buildings
The proposed food & beverage offering will be a major part of the selection criteria. PNF is looking for contemporary food & beverage offerings.
To participate in this Expression of Interest (“EOI”) process interested parties must register via an online dataroom.

All EOI’s are to be submitted according to the instruction outlined later in the document and are due by 5.00pm 28th February 2011.
