Jacques Reymond’s renowned former Prahran restaurant sold
Celebrity chef Jacques Reymond has sold his landmark Prahran mansion, where Melburnians dined and celebrated at his top restaurants.
The foodie legend sold the grand Victorian at 78 Williams Rd for an undisclosed price after it was listed with $4.1-$4.5 million price hopes.
Colliers International director Guy Wells says he cannot comment on the price, but says there had been significant interest for the “unique” listing before it sold.

“The buyers are local … they don’t know yet what they want to do with the property but are getting their plans together,” Wells says.
“Most people that looked at it were considering continuing its hospitality use or turning it into a residence.”
The venue was owned by the Reymond family for 23 years and used to host renowned fine dining establishments including French eatery Jacques Reymond and Woodland House.
His namesake restaurant was crowned Melbourne’s best eatery in 2011 by the Herald Sun and drew in some huge names over the years including Elton John, Kylie and Dannii Minogue, F1 champion Michael Schumacher and British pop icon Cliff Richard.
Woodland House, which was run by Thomas Woods and Hayden McFarland, was closed in July after a drop in business and event bookings.
The gold rush-era heritage mansion was kept in original condition, set on a 1010sqm block.
Reymond remains involved with other venues L’Hotel Gitan and Bistro Gitan, which are run by his children, Antoine, Edouard and Nathalie. His wife, Kathy, also helps with the operations.
