The Crab Claw Island Resort was originally developed in 1985 and is located 135km south of Darwin at the base of Bynoe Harbour in the Northern Territory. At present the Crab Claw Island Resort boasts 25 elevated rooms of varying configurations. There are also 19 powered campsites, an open-air restaurant and bar, air-conditioned conference room, two shaded swimming pools, beach, private boat ramp, walking tracks and airstrip.

The traditional market for the Crab Claw Island Resort has been local and interstate fishermen. However, the Crab Claw Island Resort has now expanded its market to include corporate clients through its conferencing facilities and has also developed the restaurant facilities to cater for 'day' visitors who arrive by either car, boat or air. Recently, the restaurant won the 2012 Australian Hotels Association (NT) Gold Plate for "Best Public Hotel Dining" in the Northern Territory which is a result of management initiatives to increase the quality of the menu being offered to customers.
