Located in the spectacular Derwent Valley in Tasmania and surrounded by some of natures most beautiful works of art such as:

This property is on the outskirts of the historic township of Maydena with the famous Tyenna River, a favourite destination for fanatical fly-fishermen and white water rafters, forming one of its boundaries.

The cottages were originally forestry workers’ homes and these have been transformed into eight, self-contained units set out as:

• 3 X 4 bedroom houses (1 luxuriously appointed)
• 1 X 5 bedroom house
The other building on-site contains:

• Conference / Meeting Room
• 55 seat Restaurant with bar and commercial kitchen

A small, spring-fed creek running into the property has been diverted to several ponds which are filled with trout and a thriving Platypus population. The Platypus can be easily spotted as they feed during the day unlike their nocturnal mainland cousins.

With the many natural attractions as well as local activities like the Rail Riders (hire a rail hand-cart and explore the forests along the old rail lines); Four Wheel Drive Adventure Tours; Bush Walking; Snow Skiing; Trout Fishing and so much more, the Giants’ Table and Cottages has become a very popular base for those looking for an adventure holiday – or a place to meet and strategise – or just a peaceful retreat.

Maydena has a Primary School; Police, Ambulance and Fire Stations; RSL Club; Adventure Hub; Swimming Pool and two General Stores. It is approximately a 35 minute drive to the large township of New Norfolk and just over a one hour drive to Hobart.
