The Kandos Quarry is an currently an operational quarry with licences and development consent to extract the quality materials noted as overburden and part of the Carwell Creek Limestone Mine, which operated from 1911 until 2011.
The overburden emplacement contains material extracted from the western side of the quarry including limestone. This material is processed to produce aggregates, crushed rock products for use in the construction of roads, stabilisation and drainage works for markets within the Central West of NSW and Metropolitan Sydney.
The current development consent allows for the extraction and transport of 250,000 tonne per annum of overburden for 30 years.
Further resource including high- and low-grade Limestone is located within the property requiring further consent and part of the ongoing operation of the Kandos Quarry.
You may consider many more uses subject to council approval
(STCA) such as infill, recycling and other uses noted in the current zoning definitions.
